| Harrow and Wembley SME |
Harrow and Wembley Society of Model Engineers was founded in 1936 and had its first in the grounds of Kenton Grange. In the 1950’s the club moved to a new site at the British Rail sports ground at Headstone Lane. Apart from a large railway section at this time the club also had a large marine section, regularly meeting at West Harrow boating pool. In the early 1970’s the club moved to a new site in Roxbourne Park, Eastcote and are still there today. The club pioneered multi gauge ground level tracks, and the layout has been extended over the years. Public rides are given each Sunday afternoon, Easter to October. |
| Harlington Locomotive Society | Harlington Locomotive Society was founded in 1947, and still exists on their original site in Harlington High Street. They have a raised track of 1047 feet in length, in both 3½" and 5" gauges. Public Open Days are on the second and fourth Sundays from Easter to October, as well as the Mince Pie Run in December. |
| Hillingdon Railway Modellers | The club was started by our president who placed an advertisement in the Railway Modeller some fifteen years ago. Several people responded, some of whom are still members today and a meeting was held in his front room one cold winters evening in 1984. |
| Northolt MRC Live Steam | The live steam section has a continuous raised track suitable for 3½" and 5" gauge locomotives. It is about 660 feet long and runs around the perimeter of the Community Centre site. Access to the steaming bays is by trolley and from there to the track by traverser. There are two 5" gauge club locos, one steam and one diesel, on which driving lessons are available. |
| North London SME | The North London Society of Model Engineers (NLSME) was originally founded in 1944, the aim through which the Society was originally founded still remains today, and that is to promote and encourage model engineering and its related pastimes. |
| Frimley Lodge Railway | Frimley and Ascot Locomotive Club was given permission by Surrey County Council to build a miniature railway within the 59 acre Frimley Lodge Park in 1988. By 1990 the one kilometre line was open to the public with train rides on the first Sunday of each month between March and November. |
| Vale of Aylesbury | The club constitution was to promote all types of Model Engineering and we still have a good cross section to this day. Including traction engines, planes, clocks etc. Advertising in the early days was in the local paper and in the Aylesbury Library Index. But it was found that the best way was to attend fetes and exhibitions with the short portable track and a couple of locos that members had finished. |
| Chingford & District Model Engineering Club | Situated in Ridgeway Park, Chingford E4, these railways are used to give rides to members of the public at various times between April and September each year. |
| St Albans & District SME | The St Albans & District Model Engineering Society is a contact point for people interested in model engineering, model locomotives, trains, traction engines, stationary engines, model boats, yachts, barges, or just general engineering and technical subjects. |

| Northern Mill Engine Society | The NMES was formed in 1966 by a small but extremely dedicated band of enthusiasts who decided that something had to be done to preserve the steam engines from the textile industries of Lancashire and Yorkshire before they were all scrapped. Of the thousands of engines that were once at work, perhaps only about a hundred still survived, with more mill closures being announced every week. |
